DJ Ricky is super awesome! I got him last minute from a friend for a Relay For Life event. He drove 3 hours to be our DJ and he quickly learned the ropes of Relaying and playing good awesome music for our opening ceremony, the HeartWrenching luminaries ceremony and upbeat music in between. He did a fantastic job and we are using him again this year! He was very easy to work with. DJ Ricky was prompt and provided sound equipment everywhere we needed it. We had a long list of must play songs and he made sure to play them. DJ Ricky also took plenty of requests so everyone was able to provide some input. He brought a cool light show for the dance floor and he kept the party going all night! We would definitely recommend DJ Ricky for any wedding or other event.
DJ Ricky is awesome! He was so easy to work with throughout the entire process, was very helpful on the day of our wedding, and did a great job rocking the reception. He chose the appropriate timing for our wedding party entrance songs, our first dance, and our dances with parents. Later on, when my wife and our guests kept making suggestions to him throughout the night, and he was always accommodating. We highly recommend DJ Ricky for weddings and events! He made the trek out to Delfosse Winery for our wedding in May 2014 and did an awesome job. DJ Ricky made quite a treck out to warm springs va for our wedding and thank goodness he did! DJ Ricky is everything you want in a DJ: professional, courteous, skillful, and accommodating. We hired him to play at our wedding in August 2014 and it was one of the best decisions we made for the big day. We’re really picky about our music and Ricky was totally open to us creating specific playlists for the dinner reception and the dance party that followed and he stuck to them. He was also incredibly responsive in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding day itself, and showed up early the day-of to set up his equipment, and even helped the staff at our wedding venue with their set-up. Classy! He kept the dance party going all night long and our guests had a super great time. I would highly recommend DJ Ricky for any special occasion. He has a knack for making a room full of people very happy!
DJ Ricky is the best wedding DJ of all time. Starting with the actual reception – our dance floor was full the entire night, and good-natured Ricky even indulged us with an encore song at the end of the night. He listened to our (vague) direction on playlist and had fun with it. When our first dance was suddenly 13 minutes long, he edited it to an blissful 3-4 minutes on the fly. The ladies had a silly choreographed dance, too, and he pulled that off flawlessly. He is EXCELLENT at this. All our guests have been telling us how much they enjoyed “that wonderful DJ!” This is nice feedback, as we’ve been to weddings where the DJ disappointed.
But there is so much more about Ricky that made our wedding so wonderful. His support leading up to the wedding was spot on, offering suggestions and guidance where needed but never pushing us one way or another. He truly cares about delivering you a great experience. Although we had a string trio perform during the ceremony and cocktail hour, Ricky was instrumental (no pun intended!) to making that happen, thanks to mic’ing it up and helping set up in general.
He jumped in where needed, made excellent calls on his own and when he needed to asked all the right questions. If I had to use one word to describe Ricky, it would be PROFESSIONAL: he is excellent at his craft, he managed some very obnoxious guests with unfathomable grace, and he really made it the best party of our lives. We can’t thank him enough for his hard work and hope to be out on one of his dance floors again soon!
DY Ricky is fabulous! He is easy to work with and a true professional. I had a small wedding of 65 and he took the time to talk to us about what we wanted and put great care into getting the event to run smoothly. He got the crowd moving and dancing all night and found the perfect balance between old and new to make sure that everyone from our older guests to youngest ones had a great time. I highly recommend him for any wedding, you’ll have a stress-free experience that you will not regret!
Choosing a DJ for your wedding can be very stressful as it is such an important part of the ceremony/reception; possibly the most important. I’ll start with this…DJ Ricky was excellent!! We were very impressed, and got lots of compliments on him. He gave us exactly what we were looking for, and some! Very fun, friendly, courteous, and kept the energy level high. We had a wedding of about 100 guests from 1yr old to 85yrs old, and he found a way to please everyone. His song transitions during the ceremony were perfect, and he was great introducing the wedding party and events throughout the night. With the majority of the guests dancing the entire night, you would think people didn’t have chairs to sit in! He is very professional and easy to work with. He will definitely provide you with whatever you are looking for in an entertainer! I would highly recommend him for any occasion. You will not be disappointed!
We could not have been more pleased with DJ Ricky! He was a key element in the success of our 25th anniversary celebration. He strikes a remarkable balance between his friendly, easy-going demeanor and impressive professionalism and attention to detail. I believe he is prepared for anything! DJ Ricky was awesome and the perfect DJ for our wedding. We are so grateful that we got connected with him. First off, we were from out of town, so we were worried about working with someone remotely. Based on how communicative he was and all of the thought he put into addressing what we wrote on our forms for him, I felt confident that he would be great. Secondly, we had an outdoor service with no electrical hook-up, an outdoor cocktail hour on the patio of our reception venue, and then the actual reception inside the venue. So we needed three set-ups from him, each immediately after the last. To say the least, we were a little high-maintenance. He provided a battery operated system for the venue with a cordless mic which was perfect. There was no lag time moving from locations – everything flowed seamlessly. And he did a great job of generally sticking to the music we wanted, while still being flexible enough to take requests from our guests. We are so grateful to have found him and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a really professional and fun DJ.

DJ Ricky was awesome!! I’ve always said people usually remember the entertainment at a wedding (at least I usually do) and I’m pretty sure our guests will remember dancing their butts off and having a great time. He catered perfectly to the main age group we had at our wedding and I don’t think the dance floor was empty for one second during the night. DJ Ricky has been our DJ for our prom for the last 3 years and we booked him again for next year. He arrives early and is available to fix any problems that come up with sound or blown fuses. He is really awesome with the students and tries to keep them dancing. I know it gets overwhelming with all the song requests but he takes it calmly and plays what he can. He really cares if the students like what he is playing, I would recommend him for any event!!
DJ Ricky did an incredible job on our wedding in June 2016. We used him for music at our ceremony as well as reception DJ/MC. Ricky is a consummate professional and goes out of his way to make sure the bride and groom don’t have to worry at all on their wedding day. He’s super organized leading up to the big day, and talked through the entire timeline with us multiple times, even pointing out things we hadn’t considered. On the day of, he worked with our venue coordinator directly to get everything set up and to coordinate all his announcements for a truly seamless experience.

Going into our wedding day, we were nervous that our small wedding couldn’t keep up dancing for 2+ hours but Ricky totally crushed our expectations. We already had a DJ for our wedding when we met DJ Ricky. I asked him a few questions and how he answered them and gave me additional information and suggestions made me re-think my original DJ. My husband and I talked about switching and came to the conclusion that DJ Ricky was the best and most important part of our day. He was always quick to answer questions & offer advice. Ricky is the best! Professional, laidback and easy to work with. He did the music for our wedding ceremony at the UVA Chapel and our reception at The Local in Belmont in November 2016. We had pretty specific music tastes (starting songs early, cutting them off after 2 minutes etc.) and he was perfect. He did everything we asked for. At the reception he had an amazing set up including lights along the dance floor, which was awesome and more than I expected. We didn’t have a wedding planner so Ricky was responsible for keeping us on our wedding timeline and did an excellent job. We had picked out a bunch of music beforehand, but also had a bunch of requests during the reception which he was able to download and play right away. Overall, highly professional and easy to work with. If you pick Ricky as your dj this is one part of wedding planning you will not have to stress about at all.
